The war in Ukraine has been difficult for many of our Hilldale families as many of them were either born and raised in Ukraine, or have families still living in Kyiv, Odessa, as well as other parts of Ukraine. Our heart mourns, our eyes swell with tears, and our minds wander with worry for the people of Ukraine. Hilldale School stands in proud support of the people of Ukraine!

 

8th grader Sophie, who has Ukrainian roots, and 7th grader Tillie organized a fundraising event held in the courtyard on a gorgeous Friday during lunch. The girls sold cake pops to their fellow Hilldale classmates, peers, and staff, with all proceeds made from the fundraiser going to the relief effort to help the people of Ukraine. Such a beautiful and sweet gesture of support! Though we are 10 hours behind and over 6,000 miles away from the heart of Ukraine, Kyiv, our collective hearts and spirits are bound and connected by the love and support we have for the beautiful people of Ukraine.
