At the Hilldale School, art education integrates the study of art history, art criticism, aesthetics and art production. The visual arts curriculum helps students to develop self-esteem, creativity, problem solving skills, improve fine motor skills and eye hand coordination. Students expected to explore, challenge, develop, and express ideas, using the skills, language and variety of techniques.
Art Education curriculum is a spiraling curriculum, reinforcing and deepening learning in subsequent grade levels. There is a direct link to English Language Arts, Math and Science concepts through speaking and listening, study of shapes, patterns, symmetry and balance.
